Network code - reform
Since 2003 the network code has been going through a process of reform.
Phase 1 and 2 reforms
Phase 1
This first phase came into effect in early 2005. It made the network code processes easier to understand and work better, and included modifications to Parts A, C, F, G and H.
Three new parts to the network code, Parts J, K and M, were also introduced.
Phase 2
Considerable progress has been made by the industry in taking forward phase 2 of these reforms, including work on:
- performance and delay attribution (Parts B, H and L);
- timetabling process (Part D);
- vehicle and network change (Parts F and G);
- operational disruption and the development of a Railway Operational Code (Part H); and
- introduction of revised Access Dispute Resolution Rules (ADRR).
