ORR rail statistics
We publish a range of statistics across a common set of themes including rail performance and rail usage. All our statistics are available on the ORR data portal. You can access our information in two ways:
ORR Data Portal
The ORR Data Portal is an online interface for ORR's database of rail statistics. It contains data on safety, service satisfaction, rail usage, performance, network capability and assets and much more. The data portal offers an interactive tool that will help you access standard reports or create your own reports.
As part of our commitment to improving the quality of our statistics in line with requirements for National Statistics accreditation, we have also introduced themed statistical releases in the latter part of 2013. These provide contextual commentary on statistics across a common topic (e.g. rail usage) and aid the user in the interpretation of the data.
We have also produced themed quality reports which pull together the key qualitative information on relevance, accuracy and reliability, timeliness and punctuality, accessibility and clarity and coherence and comparability.
Station usage data
Station usage data consist of estimates of the total numbers of people entering, exiting and interchanging at stations. This is not currently available on the data portal or in a statistical release.
