SPAD investigation reports

Following the Ladbroke Grove accident, HSE produced publicly available monthly SPAD reports, from October 1999 until September 2005. After that, Transport Ministers agreed that HSE should produce quarterly SPAD reports and we have subsequently taken over responsibility for this. Following a review of the reports and consultation with the DfT we now provide a summary of the SPAD report quarterly in the National Rail Trends publication rather than in a separate report.

The last SPAD report published on this page is Q3 2009. The Q4 2009 SPAD statistics was reported in the National Rail Trends publication released on 11 February 2010 as can be seen on the rail statistics publication dates page.

The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) still publishes monthly, publicly available, SPAD reports.
