Rail statistics

This section gives free access to National Rail Trends (NRT), Station usage data and Information catalogue. You can find railway safety statistics in the ORR Railway Safety Statistical Report available on the Annual reports page. 

All industry processes need fit for purpose data and we are convinced that all industry parties will benefit from our initiatives to improve data quality, usability and accessibility. We have established a Rail Statistics Steering Group which will take a lead role in determining future priorities in this area.

The Overview Report - Improving Rail Data gives an overview of Network Rail systems and sets out a process for assessing industry datasets against a Data Code. This will be progressed following an industry consultation.
