| 28 Jul 2008 | A consultation on new guidance for the heritage railway sector. Safety verification (SV) requirements of the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006 (ROGS) will come into force from 1 October 2008. This will bring both sectors into line with all other sectors of the railway industry who have been applying SV since October 2006. ORR is seeking views on these by 5 September 2008. |

| 21 Jul 2008 | ORR consults on development of its corporate strategy for 2009-14. As well as continuing to do our core job of securing safe and effective delivery, so that railway users and funders get the railway services they are paying for, we propose that we should play a bigger role in identifying the longer-term issues and press the industry and Government to address them in timely and innovative ways. We also call on the rail industry to step up the pace of its planning to meet the long-term challenges it faces if it is to meet the expectations of its customers and of government. We seek stakeholder views on our proposals by 1 October 2008. |
| 21 Jul 2008 | We would welcome your views on any of the issues raised in the attached paper and, in particular, on our proposals for self financing schemes; our proposed options for the regulatory treatment of hypothecated gains; and our policy proposals for a more focused and effective approval process. | 18 Jul 2008 | Following consultation with the industry over our proposals to introduce a criteria to clarify the our information requirements in respect of proposals to change the Delay Attribution Guide submitted for our approval, this document sets out our final conclusions on this issue and publishes our finalised criteria. |
