Third party liability insurance notifications

With effect from 1 March 2007, ORR replaced the individual approval of operator third party liability insurance arrangements with a new general approval ( PDF 77 Kb). Operators’ insurance brokers should send us confirmation that adequate insurance cover is in place, in line with the general approval.

To do this:

1. Please complete the Broker’s Confirmation letter ( Word 79 Kb); then
2. forward to the Licensing and network regulation team every time an insurance policy is renewed.

On this page you will find an alphabetical list of train operators with links to their broker’s letters, including those within Network Rail’s Joint Insured Facility or those with variations to the general approval (for example, insurance variations).
