ORR Board

We are an independent statutory body led by a Board. The Secretary of State for Transport appoints Board members for a fixed term of up to five years. The Secretary of State can only dismiss a member of the Board on the grounds set out in paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 to the Railways and Transport Safety Act 2003.

The ORR Board is responsible for setting our strategy and oversees efficient, effective and economic delivery of that strategy.

Joint Regulators Group (JRG)

This is a group which brings together the heads of all UK regulators. In 2005, JRG agreed to publish its minutes and these appear on the websites of all its members. This section contains current membership and links to Joint Regulator minutes.
