Current track access applications
In January 2008, Network Rail took on responsibility for conducting formal pre-application consultations on the majority of track access applications. Network Rail's website lists details of Network Rail's current and completed track access consultations (select Track Access). When considering applications for approval, we will generally wish to be satisfied that all relevant statutory bodies and other potentially affected parties have been consulted to ensure that those parties have been able to consider the implications of the proposed contract or contract amendment and make representations where they believe they may be affected. This is so that we can take relevant views into account when making our decision. For sections 17 and 22A applications for which no pre-application consultation has been conducted, we will conduct the industry consultation ourselves.
