The Channel Tunnel Safety Authority (CTSA) has today published its Annual Report for the period from 1 April 2005 to 31 December 2005.
This is the 18th Annual Report to be published by the CTSA and its working groups. Key features include:
- The continuing impact of European Directives on arrangements for safety in the Channel Tunnel;
- The impact of staff reductions and organizational changes arising from Eurotunnel’s DARE Project (Delivering Actions to Revitalise Eurotunnel);
- Advising the Intergovernmental Commission on Eurotunnel submissions, in particular in respect of the safety case for Europorte 2, a subsidiary company created by Eurotunnel S.A. to provide traction services through the Fixed Link.

- The Safety Authority is the bi-national body that advises the UK and French Intergovernmental Commission on all matters relating to safety in the operation of the Channel Tunnel Fixed Link. The CTSA has five members from the UK and five from France and is chaired in rotation between the two countries. It is serviced by five Permanent Working Groups.
