Office of Rail Regulation welcomes the Railways Bill

Chris Bolt, Chairman of the Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) said today:

“We welcome the publication of the Railways Bill. This is an important step in the Government’s proposals for the enhanced role that ORR will play in the simplification of the organisation of Britain’s railways. The legislation will help to create the long-term stability that the network needs by bringing together safety, performance and cost under a single, independent regulator.”
