Regulator comments on today's rail safety announcement

Commenting on the Government's initiative in introducing the Train Protection and Warning System, the Rail Regulator, Tom Winsor, said today: "I welcome today's announcement as further evidence of the Government's whole-hearted commitment to rail as a modern, safe and efficient means of transport. The new system should result in an ever safer rail network as well as bringing all-round benefits to passengers."
