Rail Regulator welcomes appointment of Richard Bowker as Strategic Rail Authority chairman

Rail Regulator Tom Winsor today warmly welcomed the appointment of Richard Bowker as the new chairman of the Strategic Rail Authority, in succession to Sir Alastair Morton.

Tom Winsor said:
"Richard Bowker is an excellent choice for SRA chairman. He has the knowledge, experience, energy and vigour for one of the most challenging jobs in Britain's railways.

"I have known and worked with Richard for several years and I have the highest regard for his abilities, talents, drive and commitment to the future of the railway. I very much look forward to working with him in a strong spirit of harmony and close cooperation in tackling the real problems which the railways face."
