Towards a more efficient railway – Richard Price’s Beesley Lecture
7 November 2012
At the Institute of Economic Affairs’ Annual Beesley Lecture in London, Richard Price, Chief Executive at the Office of Rail Regulation (ORR), emphasised that the rail industry needs the freedom to innovate, to deliver better value for money, and to make rail more attractive for passengers and freight.
Richard Price highlighted that, to help industry get the best service for its customers and a good deal for the taxpayer, ORR and governments need to step back from the detail of running the railways. The lecture can be read in full at: http://www.rail-reg.gov.uk/upload/pdf/beesley-lecture.pdf
