Reference:

Date published:
25 February 2012
Start date:
25 February 2012
Closing date:

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, the Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) will publish equality objectives. As a public body ORR has an obligation to give due regard to eliminating discrimination, promoting equality of opportunity, and fostering good relations for people sharing protected characteristics.
The equality objectives will show how ORR intends to fulfil this role. To ensure that the objectives are relevant, realistic and challenging, we have published some draft objectives for consultation. The objectives will be published by 6 April 2012, but will be updated on an ongoing basis to ensure that they remain relevant and challenging.
We have directly contacted industry stakeholders and groups representing people with protected characteristics. For further information on ORR’s response to the Equality Act 2010, please see our dedicated web page.
