Revised proposals for publishing enforcement notices consultation
Start date: 6 July 2010
End date: 28 September 2010
We consulted the industry on proposals to revise the way in which we publish improvement and prohibition notices served on dutyholders. The changes proposed would:
- enable information about health and safety issues we identify, and the enforcement action we take, to be brought to the attention of all interested parties earlier than at present;
- assist in fulfilling our obligations under s28(8) of HSWA regarding the informing of employees, and minimise / control the consequences of such information entering the public domain through other routes; and
- ensure we meet our obligations under the Environment and Safety Information Act 1988 (ESIA) with regard to maintaining an appropriate public register of the improvement and prohibition notices we serve.
The consultation has now closed and we have now published our conclusions (
