Investigation into DB Schenker pricing for rail haulage of petroleum products
The Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) is investigating the pricing behaviour of DB Schenker Rail (UK) Limited (DBS), a freight train operating company, in relation to a contract for providing rail haulage for petroleum products.
We are conducting this investigation under the Competition Act 1998 (the Act), having been made aware of concerns in this area from interested parties.
The opening of an investigation under the Act does not necessarily mean that we will make a finding of an infringement. Another outcome of our investigation might be a decision that no infringement has occurred.
We have published guidance on our website (PDF) regarding the application of competition law to the railways.
