Trains and cycles
|
22 January 1998
The Rail Regulator, John Swift QC, recently met with the House of Commons all-party cycling group at which he took the opportunity to launch the first in a series of information papers. "Using cycles in conjunction with trains" - Information Paper One - explains that although the Regulator has no formal powers in relation to cycles on trains or at stations, he believes there is a need for train operators 'actively to seek opportunities to cooperate and look for ways to improve integration between modes and to make a positive contribution to improving services for passengers'. Copies of the paper are available from Sue MacSwan, ORR Library, 1 Waterhouse Square, 138-142 Holborn, London EC1N 2ST (Tel: 0171 282 2001; Fax: 0171 282 2045).
